Gang Community Guidelines
Last updated: June 2026
Gang is a school and university-based social app for compliments, light polls, and positive moments with classmates. It is not a place to embarrass, target, or hurt people.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. If something is cruel, unsafe, sexual, hateful, threatening, or meant to shame someone, it does not belong on Gang.
Short Version
Onboarding checkbox text:
I agree to keep Gang positive and respectful. I will not bully, harass, threaten, shame, sexually objectify, discriminate against, impersonate, spam, or abuse anyone. Anonymous features are not a license to hurt people, and violations may lead to content removal or account suspension.
1) Keep Gang Positive
Gang works best when people use it to make classmates feel seen in a good way. Use polls, compliments, profiles, reactions, and any other app feature with respect.
- Send compliments that are kind, playful, and appropriate.
- Answer polls in a way that does not target or humiliate people.
- Respect classmates, schools, and communities.
- Think before you tap: would this feel okay if it involved you?
2) What Is Not Allowed
Do not use Gang to:
- bully, harass, stalk, shame, embarrass, or target someone,
- threaten violence, self-harm, blackmail, or real-world harm,
- sexually objectify people or post sexual content,
- share, request, or suggest sexual content involving minors in any way,
- attack or exclude people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, body type, or other protected traits,
- impersonate another person, school, group, or the Gang team,
- use fake names, usernames, photos, or school details to mislead,
- spam, scam, manipulate polls, create fake accounts, or use bots,
- post private information or try to expose who sent something,
- abuse report, block, reaction, inbox, profile, or feed tools, or
- try to get around safety systems, moderation, or account limits.
3) Anonymous Does Not Mean Anything Goes
Some Gang features may feel anonymous to other users. That privacy is there to make compliments and polls less awkward, not to protect bad behavior.
- Anonymous features are not a license to hurt people.
- Do not use anonymity to bully, threaten, shame, or pressure anyone.
- Do not try to reveal, guess, or pressure someone to reveal an anonymous sender.
- Gang may use internal records, moderation signals, and safety tools to investigate abuse and enforce these Guidelines.
4) Profiles, Photos, and Names
Your editable fields still count. Names, usernames, profile photos, school or class info, report details, reactions, and any other content you submit must follow these Guidelines.
- Use your own identity or a nickname that is not misleading.
- Do not upload sexual, hateful, violent, or humiliating photos.
- Do not use usernames or names to insult or target someone.
- Do not claim to represent a school, club, or person if you do not.
5) Moderation and Safety Reviews
Gang may filter, hide, remove, restrict, or review content and activity to keep the app safe. This may include profiles, names, usernames, photos, compliments, poll activity, reports, reactions, inbox items, and feed items.
We may use automated filters, manual review, user reports, safety signals, and school or account context to detect abuse. Violating content may be removed, hidden, limited, or kept from appearing in the app.
6) Reporting Problems
If you see content, a profile, a compliment, a feed item, or activity that feels unsafe or inappropriate, report it in the app where report tools are available. You can also contact us directly.
- Report bullying, harassment, threats, hate, sexual content, or spam.
- Report impersonation, fake accounts, or misuse of school info.
- Include details that help us find and review the issue.
- Do not file false reports to harass someone.
Reports are reviewed within 24 hours where required, and violating content may be removed.
7) Blocking and Hiding
You can block abusive users where blocking tools are available. Blocking helps stop unwanted interactions and gives you more control over your experience.
You can also remove or hide applicable feed items involving you where those controls are available. This may include feed items, compliments, or other app moments connected to your profile.
8) Enforcement
If someone violates these Guidelines, Gang may take action based on the situation and the user's history.
- remove, hide, or limit content, profiles, photos, or feed items,
- limit access to features, polls, compliments, or inbox items,
- warn the user,
- suspend the account,
- ban or remove the user from the app, and
- take extra safety steps when required by law or platform rules.
Serious abuse, threats, sexual content involving minors, hate, or repeated violations may lead to immediate suspension or removal.
